This project seeks to create measures of semantic relatedness and similarity for use with biomedical ontologies.

The main ideas behind this project are described in the following article :

Source Code

The code developed thus far consists of a generic interface to ontologies (Semantic-Similarity) and then a specific interface for SnoMed-CT (Snomed-Interface, circa 2003, PRIOR to incorporation by UMLS) We have not formally released this code, but it is available via Anonymous CVS access from sourceforge. This is the code used in the experiments in the JBI-2007 paper.
